Asmodee Returns to Gen Con with OP Tournaments and Events, Game Reveals, Sneak Peeks and More!
Guyancourt, France—June 15, 2023—Today, leading global game publisher, Asmodee announced that it will once again participate in Gen Con Indy. The event, which takes place in Indianapolis from August 3 to 6, 2023 is North America’s largest and longest-running gaming convention, attracting tabletop game fans from around the world. This year marks the 56th edition of the event, with attendance expected to reach over 50,000 gamers.
During the event, fans will be able to preview and play hot new release titles and even a select number of soon-to-be-announced games in the Asmodee area of the Exhibition Hall. In the Events Hall, Asmodee will feature over 300 Organized Play (OP) tables across more than 15,000 square feet of space and showcasing events across 20 different game lines.
With something for every type of player, Asmodee will showcase a selection of the hottest titles for 2023 and 2024. These include Disney Edition of Dixit, a unique version of Dixit, celebrating Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder, and which will be presented to the public for the first time! The recently announced 2024 trading card game, Star Wars™: Unlimited will be presented and demoed for the first time in the exhibition hall, giving players the opportunity to try out this highly anticipated game. SpellBook, the newly announced game from Phil-Walker Harding, published by Space Cowboys, will also be demoed for the first time. Star Wars: Shatterpoint, Great Western Trail: New Zealand, River of Gold taking place in the Legends of the Five Rings universe, and other yet-to-be-revealed titles will also be available for demonstrations. Finally, Ticket to Ride® Legacy: Legends of the West will be showcased, for the first time ever, at this key North American board game convention. The first chapter of the game will be available to play at the Asmodee booth!

Fans of Star Wars games in particular are in for a treat, with tournaments and events planned for titles under the license, including Star Wars: Shatterpoint, World Open qualifiers for both Star Wars: Legion and Star Wars: X-Wing. The event will also feature dedicated spaces for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game and Star Wars: Unlimited.
CATAN will host both a Qualifier Tournament as well as the Masters Invitational, while Challengers!, which recently received the As d’Or in the intermediate player category and has been nominated for the Kennerspiel des Jahres 2023, will have its own dedicated competition. Registration for these events and tournaments are open on the Gen Con website.
Other games featured for tournaments and events in 2023 include new games like Marvel D.A.G.G.E.R., 7 Wonders, with the latest Edifice expansion, and fan favorites such as Marvel Champions, Arkham Horror, The Lord of the Rings LCG, Twilight Inscription, and the 2022 smash hit from Days of Wonder, Heat: Pedal to the Metal.
